All fired up in QLD

In what may sound like a cliché and a wind up about the coming season, in the case of Modlites in Qld it is certainly not the case.

The 2017-18 season is promising to be the biggest and best in the category’s short existence. Both on and off the track, the MQ committee has been working to stamp itself as a real force on the Qld speedway scene.

A huge season calendar awaits with the season kicking off in Brisbane with the first round of the track championship on the 23rd September.

With the seasonal track championship being held in Brisbane as well as the long running cowboy cup country series throwing in the inaugural speedweek across the Christmas period as well as the NSW v QLD state of Origin series and this sets the tone for some magnificent shows. Maryborough will play host to the Qld title being held over two big nights on the 29th and 30th of December.

Qld competitors will also set their sights on the Australian Title to be held in Tamworth in January.

There is a huge amount of racing and given the cost effective nature of the class all events are sure to attract some great numbers.

Already the class has held some registration days and car inspections. An unprecedented 22 cars have already been signed, sealed and locked in for the upcoming season. This certainly means a strong start to the season with approximately another 10-15 cars still to be completed.

The majority of Modlite stars the likes of, Prosser, Leerentveld, Hancey and Lehfeldt to name a few, have returned as well as an influx of new competitors from different back grounds of motor racing, V8 Dirt Modlifieds, Go-carts even motorcycle road racing all ready to test their hand at Modlite competition.

It looks to be an outstanding season ahead and we can’t wait to see all the fans trackside.

Check out the race dates on the website to find out when Modlites are racing in your area.
