Full steam ahead in WA
Last weekend marked the first night of racing for Modlites in the North West at Broome Speedway Club. It was great to see everyone out for the double points meeting, some with new bodies and fresh engines made for a close and exciting night of racing! After a huge couple of days finishing his engine and doing his off season prep in a day, BK rolled in just in time for the first race and then managed to win all 3 heats. Come feature time it was again the father & son fight for the top spot on the podium. Harvey Oliver in the #22 Leader took the lead from the get go and battled it out with Tom Oliver #21 who has a freshly built power plant aboard the 5 Star chassis. Glen Dearle #25 wheeling the H&E was closely behind, and after Tom had a moment on the last last lap, it enabled Glen to take out 2nd place behind feature winner Harvey with Tom finishing in 3rd. It was great to see some close and clean racing from all the boys with no damage and lots of fun had by all ! Next meeting will see 2 time WA Modified Champ Mick Johnson in his new toy, this is definitely going to be a great season of racing... Watch this space !
